In addition to boasting about my own bizarre career and undoubted talents, this site's main purpose is to offer material and links to information of interest to all who wish to learn more about the state and future of science in Ukraine. Not being a (natural) scientist, my focus here is on institutional and policy issues, in some of which I have been personally involved.
Most of the materials posted under the "Science and Ukraine" tab are selected articles from the Ukrainian-language science journal Svitohylad (Worldview), a publication of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. As a member of the Editorial Board, I have been authorized to provide online access to selected articles in the English language through informal, heavily edited machine-translations that I have personally prepared. These are, for now, the main materials I will include in the informational section, "Science in Ukraine."
